GUIDELINES AND TIPS

Thank you for providing a voice for RCFC, Richland Community Family Coalition, in our local community. A Letter to the Editor is probably one of the easiest ways to receive RCFC coverage in our community newspaper. Here are a few guidelines to help you submit your letter.

Personalized letters are most welcome. Feel free to use the letters we've provided or use them as a guideline to write a more personal letter. We’d like to stress that personal letters—written in your own words- would be the best option.

Letters to the Editor should be between 150-200 words. Any longer and you risk the newspaper printing only a portion of your letter.

You MUST include your name, address and a contact phone number where you can be reached. Papers WILL NOT print your letter without this information.

 RESIDENTS BEWARE

“Threesome Entertainment” is currently attempting to open a sexually oriented business in Mifflin Township. Threesome has a temporary injunction by the Honorable Judge Oliver, Jr. to proceed with the construction necessary in order to open for business. The site in question is 1901 Ashland Road Mansfield, Ohio; a residential community.

The specific negative secondary effects of sexually oriented businesses (SOBs) upon neighborhoods have been well documented by municipalities across the country.

The effects include:

1.    Increased crime, both sexual and property

2.     Increased urban blight

3.     Increased prostitution, and

4.    Decreased property value the greatest impact single family homes
